Edward Square, Galway

Edward Square Image

A landmark development in Galway’s retail heart, Edward Square dramatically transformed Galway’s retail offer when it opened in April 2000. The development consists of:

  • 7,900 sq m retail
  • 343 sq m offices
  • 38 apartments

The retail element attracted Irish and international retailers such as Dunnes Stores, Benetton, Evans, A Wear, Oasis, Next, Topshop and HMV. Edward Holdings headquarters are located in the strikingly designed Kitty Hall on the square.

Throughout its construction every effort was made to preserve archaeology and consult with local heritage groups as Edward Square lies at the heart of Galway’s medieval system of defences.
