Hatch Hall, Dublin

Edward Holdings acquired the historic University Hall in Hatch St, Dublin 2 in November 2004.

More commonly known as Hatch Hall the building has been described as one of the strangest in Dublin considering the fact that it was built in 1913 in the last hurrah of Victorian Gothic for a religious based institution. Designed as a student residence to be run by the Jesuit Order, the hall is built around an inner courtyard and contains stained glass by the artist Evie Hone in its chapel. The Hall closed its doors to students in 2003 and its long association with the Jesuit Order came to an end on its sale to Edward Holdings.

The company anticipates that the 45,000 sq ft Hall will be developed as a hotel within its Monogram Hotel Group. As such it will be the first of the Monogram Hotels to open in the Irish capital.
