In 2005 Edward Holdings diversified into the ownership and operation of hotels. Since that time it has either developed or acquired some of the more outstanding properties in Ireland and earmarked sites for development or acquistion in both the UK and Europe.
To carry out these developments a susbidiary hotel group known as Edward Hotels was established in late 2007 to oversee all aspects of hotel operations and development. In 2009 Edward Hotels will announce the creation of a luxury Irish brand to operate three of its flagship properties, while other properties in the group will continue to be administerad as stand-alone hotel operations.
In the same year Edward Holdings created a new Irish cinema concept, EYE Cinema. The first of these properties was opened at Wellpark in Galway but the company intends to do the same in key regional centres throughout Ireland.
