Edward Holdings purchased the historic Bow Street Magistrates' Court & Police Station from the Metropolitan Police Authority and the Royal Courts Service in 2006.
In October 2008 it was granted planning permission by Westminster Council for the refurbishment and redevelopment of the Grade II-listed building as a luxury hotel. The Council recognised that proposal represents the best way to safeguard the importance of this significant landmark and create a new destination hotel for London opposite the Royal Opera House.
It is envisioned that work on the property will begin in the Spring of 2009 and the 86 bedroom hotel will be operated by a subsidiary hotel company of Edward Holdings.
