Eye Cinema, Galway
The opening of the EYE Cinema in Galway was a new departure for Irish movie theatres. Built on the main approach road to Galway from the East the Cinema's striking contemporary design made it the recipient of an award from the Royal Institute of Architects in Ireland for Ireland's best commercial building of 2006.
The luxury interiors and their design were designed to appeal to a cinema-going public who jaundiced by more conventionally designed cinemas. Since its opening it remains one of the most visited leisure facilities in the West of Ireland. Drawing on this appeal it is Edward Holdings' intention to roll-out the EYE Cinema concept in key regional locations across Ireland over the coming years.
