Hotel Meyrick
Edward Holdings acquired three of the former Great Southern Hotels in the Summer of 2006. The hotel at Killarney was later sold on while the Corrib Great Southern on the main approach road to Galway was acquired as a development site. The final hotel at Eyre Square in Galway has continued to be operated by a subsidiary hotel company of Edward Holdings since its acquisition.
Renamed the Hotel Meyrick - in recognition of an original name for Eyre Square - this grand Victorian building has operated as a hotel since its opening in 1845.
