Wellpark, Galway
Edward Holdings assembled several green and brown-field sites on the outskirts of Galway City in the late 1990s. Construction began of a 33,000 sq m mixed-use scheme in 2003, with its final phase due for completion in the Autumn of 2005.
- Phase I – residential development of 101 residential units at Sailin.
- Phase II – commercial development of retail park at Wellpark Centre and 10,000 sq m car park. Tenants include: Atlantic Homecare; Toy City; Hickeys; Reid Furniture; Maplin; PC World; Carpet Rite; Eddie Rockets; Barbarista and Sony.
- Phase III – development of Eye Cinema – Galway
- Phase IV – development of Galway’s only five star hotel, ‘The g ’.
At Wellpark Edward Holdings has expanded its interest beyond being a purely property-oriented company. It has developed two new brands one in Cinema and one in hotels – Eye Cinema and the Monogram Hotel Group. Both companies remain subsidiaries of Edward Holdings.
